インテリア雑貨店勤務のグラフィックデザイナーを経て、2015年よりフリーランスのイラストレーターとして活動中。
広告、雑誌、Web、パッケージ、ペーパーアイテム等のイラストレーションを手がけています。
手描きの風合いを感じる線や着彩で、日々の暮らしをやさしく彩る、そんなイラストレーションを心がけています。
モチーフは食べ物・雑貨・人物など。
得意とするジャンルは、暮らし・衣食住に関する女性向けのタッチです。
物心ついた頃から、趣味は模様替えと音楽。
オーディオマニアの父からジャズ、ピアノ講師の母からバッハ、6歳上の姉から洋楽の影響を受け、音楽にどっぷりな子ども時代を過ごす。近年一番好きなのはHIPHOP。
Mariko Fukuoka
Mariko, born in Japan, 1983, is an illustrator and mother of two currently living in Kyoto. She graduated from Kyoto University of Art & Design where she majored in spatial design.
In 2015, after working as a graphic designer in a home decor store, Mariko began her career as a freelance illustrator and designer focusing on advertisements, magazine spots, web, packaging, paper and print goods, etc.
With a gentle touch Mariko recreates daily life in soft tones and hand-drawn lines. Food, interior objects, and people are reoccurring motifs in Mariko’s illustrations of women’s fashion, cuisine, and lifestyle.
As Mariko grew up and her interests began to develop, she found a passion for interior arrangements and music. From her audiophile father she learned jazz; from her mother, a classical piano teacher, she learned Bach; and thanks to her sister, six years older, she began listening to pop music from around the world as well. Mariko’s childhood was full of music. Nowadays she is into hip hop.
